The
Hangaliya Gold Mine |
Introduction |
This document describes concisely
the very long history and the present situation of one of the very oldest mine
workings in the world.
For almost 6000 years men worked to collect this valuable metal, called gold.
Recent prospects suggest very large gold reserves. Fiction or reality… only the
future will.

Throughout history gold has been one of the most desired metals. Many men have searched for it, often under very difficult circumstances. Therefore it isn’t surprising that, today, it is very hard to find. But… if one looks hard enough and has the necessary “finder’s” luck small fragments are still there to be collected.
